Darius Kajokas appointed Deputy CEO of Avion Express
As the company meets its strategic ambitions to successfully expand the business, Avion Express CEO Gardar Forberg has decided to introduce a new position of the Deputy CEO to keep up with the business’ dynamics and ensure the highest level of leadership as the company continues to grow and operate around the world.
The newly created role was appointed to Darius Kajokas, who took up his duty at the beginning of August and has since proven himself as a determined and competent professional, perfectly fitted for the position.
Darius began his professional career in 2007 at Ernst & Young, a global leader in assurance, tax, transactions and advisory services. During his tenure in Ernst & Young Darius worked in various finance field projects for clients such as Thermo Fisher Scientific, Elektrenai Power Plant, Ministry of Finance, to name a few. He spent a considerable part of his career at Ernst & Young while working as an outsourced finance professional in Sicor Biotech / Teva Baltics, which is the daughter company of Teva Pharmaceuticals, the largest producer of generic drugs worldwide. For the past three and half years, Darius has been the CFO of the biggest online grocery retailer in Lithuania – Barbora. Regarding his newly obtained position, he said: “I am very excited to have been trusted with the responsibilities the Deputy CEO position holds. Coming from a different professional background, I believe my knowledge and experience will complement Avion Express and help to achieve strategic goals of the company”.
Gardar Forberg, who has been in the aviation business for over 20 years and took up Avion Express presidency in March 2017, pointed out: “Running a successful aviation company all on your own is not an easy task to do. Leadership is a team effort, and it is viable to ensure that the organisation is not utterly dependent on one person to function properly”.
