Jet2.com achieves international certification for environmental management
Jet2.com has achieved certification to ISO 14001, meaning that the company’s approach to sustainability has been certified to the internationally recognised standard for environmental management.
The certification follows an assessment of various Jet2 sites across the UK, including the company’s Commercial Offices, Operational Offices, Maintenance Hangars and Training Centres by the British Standards Institution (BSI).
Achieving ISO 14001 certification is highlighted as a target in Jet2 Plc’s 2024-2035 Sustainability Strategy. In the strategy, Jet2 commits to managing environmental management performance under the certification as it provides the framework for continual improvement.
David Neill, Corporate Affairs and Sustainability Director at Jet2.com said: “We are extremely pleased to achieve certification to ISO 14001, which is a clear demonstration of our commitment to always improving when it comes to environmental management. As well as recognising our sustainability strategy and performance, it recognises the hard work that our passionate colleagues across the business put into environmental management so that we can achieve continuous improvement and realise our stated targets.”
In May this year, Jet2.com and Jet2holidays published its updated sustainability strategy which details how the companies are taking bold, tangible actions on route to net zero by 2050, together with the launch of a new 2024-2035 climate transition plan which will bring Jet2.com’s carbon intensity in line with the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) guidance by 2035.
