French Alps debut from Cambridge in Winter '15/16
Leading tour operator Inghams adds the French Alps to its continually expanding range of holiday options from CBG
Leading specialist and snow sport travel company Inghams has expanded its range of holidays direct from Cambridge International Airport. New to the company’s Winter 2015/16 ski brochure – available in travel agents now – is a weekly flight to the French Alps on Saturdays, from mid December 2015 to end of March 2016.
The new winter flights direct to the French Alps’ Chambery Airport take less than 2 hours from Cambridge and the convenient alpine airport is well located for world renowned ski areas including the ‘Paradiski’, ‘Espace Killy’ and ‘Three Valley’ ski areas. Shorter transfer times to resorts and short check-in and waiting times at Cambridge, mean that East England skiers and snowboarders alike can welcome the prospect of more convenient travel to the French Alps as well as the widest range of resorts and accommodation.
Resorts offered from Cambridge feature some of the best skiing and snowboarding in the world, from beginners level to intermediate and advanced, at Alpe d’Huez, Courchevel, La Plagne, La Rosiere, Les Arcs, Les Deux Alpes, Meribel, Tignes, Val d’Isere, and Val Thorens. All are available using the direct flights on Saturdays meaning passengers from Cambridge will be literally spoiled for choice with great skiing and snowboarding as well as affordable travel convenience.
A firm favourite for its excellent customer service, in-resort care and high quality holiday options, Inghams features an unsurpassed range of self-catering, bed & breakfast, half and full board hotel accommodation. Inghams also offers its own range of exceptional and exclusive catered chalet and chalet-hotel holidays which are ideal for couples, families and groups alike. These properties offer great value added benefits such as free WiFi, hearty skiers’ breakfasts, afternoon snacks and excellent four or five-course evening meals with complimentary wine, most in perfect ski-in ski-out locations offering the best slope-side access to the pistes.
“Inghams is an excellent travel company and we’re delighted to see another new destination”, commented David Surley, Head of Business & Route Development at Cambridge International Airport. “We know they’ll be delighting East England based customers from Cambridge this winter with an outstanding range of ski and snowboard holidays to the French Alps – home to some of the finest slopes and some of the most famous and popular snow-sport resorts, just a short flight away.”
Peter Moor of Inghams Holidays welcomed the new winter flights from Cambridge, saying “this is where Inghams excel; offering customers excellent, friendly service at convenient local departure points, flying from Cambridge is both relaxing and enjoyable, so easy to reach from all over East England with terminal-side car parking and none of the hassle. Plus, with shorter resort transfers arriving at Chambery, the new flights are ideal for quick access to our many French Alps resorts and the fantastic skiing and snowboarding on offer. We know this will be a popular option for Cambridge and East Anglian travellers and we’re very happy to be adding another new destination.”
