Extension work on the airport arrivals terminal

As previously communicated, the work will see the implementation of space on the first floor of the departures terminal and an equal area on the corresponding ground floor area reserved for disembarkation, extending the baggage reclaim area and building new passport control stations for passengers arriving on extra-Schengen flights. At the same time, a new boarding gate will be opened on the first floor of the Schengen departure terminal. Overall, 3240 m2of space will be created and over 2000 m2of existing surface area will be renovated. The extension of the Orio al Serio Airport should be complete by spring 2015 to coincide with the Expo, according to a schedule that foresees the opening of the new baggage reclaim area in summer 2014.
