Bahrain Airport Company (BAC) Chief Executive Officer Mohamed Yousif Al Binfalah’s appointment as Chair of the Airports Council International (ACI) World Audit Committee
Bahrain Airport Company (BAC) Chief Executive Officer Mohamed Yousif Al Binfalah’s appointment as Chair of the Airports Council International (ACI) World Audit Committee was announced during the ACI World Governing Board meetings., The meetings provided a platform for senior decision-makers to explore ways of enhancing cooperation between airports, international aviation organizations, and their strategic partners.
Mr. Al Binfalah, who is also a member of the ACI World Governing Board, said: “I would like to thank ACI for entrusting me with this additional responsibility. I look forward to working with my fellow committee members and board members to help create a more sustainable future for airports. It was an honor to host this major civil aviation event in the Kingdom for the second time. It gave us the opportunity to showcase our aviation advancements at the new terminal and introduce our distinguished guests to the Kingdom’s rich cultural heritage. Making Bahrain the destination of choice for passengers and global events is an important component of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, and BAC is pleased to play a role in achieving this objective.”
ACI World Governing Board Chairman and Oman Airports CEO, Shaikh Aimen bin Ahmed Al Hosni said: “On behalf of the Board, I congratulate Mr. Al Binfalah on his appointment and wish him every success. The committee plays a key role in ACI’s operations, providing oversight of the financial reporting and audit processes, the organization’s system of internal controls, and compliance with laws and regulations. In his capacity as a member of the ACI World Governing Board, Mr. Al Binfalah has shown dedication and a forward-thinking approach that I am confident will serve the ACI World Audit Committee well in the coming years.”
ACI, the trade association of the world’s airports, is a federated organization comprising ACI World, ACI Africa, ACI Asia-Pacific, ACI EUROPE, ACI Latin America-Caribbean, and ACI North America. In representing the best interests of airports during key phases of policy development, ACI helps to ensure a global air transport system that is safe, secure, efficient, and environmentally sustainable. As of January 2023, ACI serves 712 members, operating 1,925 airports in 171 countries.
The ACI World Governing Board, World Audit Committee, and World Executive Committee meetings provided a platform for exchanging knowledge and expertise, finding innovative ways of enhancing efficiency in the airports and aviation sector, developing environmental and economically sustainable projects, and addressing other challenges that directly affect airports and civil aviation.
Hosting this event further strengthens the Kingdom’s position as a leading destination for global aviation conferences and exhibitions. Such events also bolster Bahrain’s tourism sector by spotlighting the Kingdom’s world-class tourist attractions and cultural destinations, several of which are UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
