DAT becomes Aarhus' latest new scheduled airline customer
New flights and new destination: Aarhus-Bornholm
Danish airline DAT has opened ticket sales for a new route from Aarhus to the Island of Bornholm for summer 2020. The airline has added Aarhus Airport to its scheduled route map for the first time with the new three-weekly operation.
“Our continued focus on expanding the route network has now reached Bornholm. In line with the demand of travelers from East Jutland, we welcome DAT on this until now wide-open market opportunity, it will directly benefit the many travelers who spend every summer on Bornholm and who now can fly directly from Denmark's second city”, says David Surley - Aarhus Airport's head of airline relations.
DAT has operated flights since 1996 and is a well-known name in the Danish aviation market. For many years, DAT has operated holiday charter flights from Aarhus Airport on behalf of tour operators and has transported tens of thousands of guests to Mediterranean sunshine destinations. Now the time has come for the Danish island of Bornholm.
“Danes are increasingly choosing to go on holiday to our own vacation island of Bornholm. The new route from Aarhus Airport means that even more can enjoy an idyllic summer holiday on the sunshine Island. At Destination Bornholm we are pleased that DAT and Aarhus Airport see good opportunities in Bornholm as a holiday destination for the holidaymakers of East Jutland, ”Pernille Kofod Lydolph, Director of Destination Bornholm.
The new route to Bornholm is the airline's first scheduled route directly from Aarhus and will be flown by ATR turboprop flights. Departures will be Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays to and from Aarhus. The flight will take only 1 hour and 5 minutes.
Bornholm joins Rhodes, Alicante, Chania and Varna as already announced new routes and destinations serviced from Aarhus in summer 2020.
