About The Airport
The Tucson Airport Authority operates Tucson International Airport, which serves 3.6 million commercial airline passengers annually to 19 destinations in the United States. Airlines operating at TUS are Alaska Airlines, Allegiant Airlines, American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, Frontier Airlines, Southwest Airlines, Sun Country Airlines and United Airlines.
The Tucson area has more than one million residents and is home to the University of Arizona, which has an enrollment of more than 40,000 students. Industry clusters in the region include biotechnology, aerospace, defense and mining. Major employers are Raytheon Missile Systems, Caterpillar, Davis-Monthan Air Force Base, Fort Huachuca U.S. Army Intelligence Center, Ventana Medical Systems, a division of the Roche Group, Sanofi, Freeport-McMoRan, Asarco, IBM, Bombardier Aerospace and Geico.
Tucson is also a world-class tourist destination, with its unique Sonoran Desert setting, surrounded by mountains and just 60 miles north of the Mexican border. Resort brands represented in the region include Ritz-Carlton, JW Marriott, Westin, Loew’s, Hilton, Wyndham Grand, Hilton, Miraval and Canyon Ranch.
