Velana International Airport records its highest number of Aircraft Movements

Velana International Airport has recorded a record number of Aircraft Movements in a single Day on 2nd January 2017.

Just a day after the official inauguration of Velana International Airport, the airport has experienced 567 Aircraft Movements, the highest ever recorded in the history of Airport since its official opening on 12th April 1966.

Maldives Airports Company Ltd (MACL) was able to confirm from its traffic movements that 188 wheel base movements and 379 Seaplane movements were recorded on 2nd January 2017.
