Velana International Airport Welcomes GoAir to the Maldives

The Indian Low Cost Carrier, GoAir was greeted with a traditional water cannon salute and Boduberu cultural dance performance at Velana International Airport on 14th October 2018.

To celebrate the launch of GoAir, an official event was held which was officiated by the Chief Guest, Chief Executive Officer of Maldives Civil Aviation Authority Mr. Hussain Jaleel, the Ambassador of India to Maldives, His Excellency Mr. Akilesh Mishra, GoAir’s Vice President International Operations, Mr. Arjun Dasgupta and the Managing Director of Maldives Airports Company Ltd Mr. Adil Moosa.

The airline which is scheduled to operate daily flights to the Maldives from three major cities; New Delhi, Mumbai & Bangalore is expected to boost tourist arrivals from India.
