ISTANBUL NEW ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT CERTIFICATE IN INTERNATIONAL STANDARDS IN THE AIRPORT
IGA has added a renewed ISO 14001 Environmental Management System Certificate to its achievements as the first company in the aviation sector and other comparative sectors in Turkey.
Having undertaken the construction of the Istanbul New Airport and the operation of it for 25 years, İGA signed another principle from the end of 2016. After months of a result of a frenetic work schedule HDI, in the aviation sector in Turkey and other renewed comparative sector ISO 14001: 2015 Environmental Management System Certificate 'ni awarded the first and only company.
The ISO 14001: 2015 Environmental Management System Document, renewed every five years by the International Standardization Organization (ISO), was published in January 2016 by the Turkish Standards Institute in Turkey. The work started in Istanbul New Airport in August 2016 under the leadership of IGA Environment and Sustainability Directorate, started the process by following the field implementations. As a result of the work program targeting the entire 22,000-person IGA Family, it has come to the stage of inspection. After successfully completing the rigorous exams conducted by the Bureau Veritas team of the international independent audit, environmental, health and risk prevention company Istanbul New Airport, IGA received the certificate.
HDI Airports Construction CEO of Joseph Akcayoglu , said; "As IGA, we undertake the responsibility of the world's largest airport project from scratch. The Istanbul New Airport is also a source of prizes and documentation for Turkey being a pioneer in many areas. We are working in the sector with a great motivation to pass the 'firsts'. Despite being recently updated, we received an ISO 14001: 2015 Environmental Management System Certificate, which is renewed as a result of an intensive program and the dedication of the entire IGA family. From the very first day, we have firmly established environmental and sustainability bases with the highest level of support and sensitivity we have given to this issue. Today we are proud of being the new standard for Istanbul New Airport. We succeeded in becoming the first company in Turkey to receive the Environment Management System in Belgeyi Aviation and comparative sectors. With this success we have achieved in the last days of 2016, we will make a much more exciting start to 2017. In the coming years, we will continue to "sign the firsts and make our country proud".
ISO 14001 on Environmental System
ISO 14001: 2015 Environmental Management System, defining a company's environmental performance, minimizing environmental impacts, preventing, controlling and continuous improvement of environmental performance in this regard is an international standard that defines the process. From the first stage to the last stage of service, this system enables the environmental effects to be taken into account every step of the way, with the expression "from the cradle to the vista".
