Updates on the 2021 summer season from the Milan Airports

The positive news about the connections goes hand in hand with those on the softening of the measures for passengers arriving in Italy. The latest ordinance signed by the Minister of Health, Roberto Speranza, provided for the abolition of the 5-day quarantine upon arrival in Italy from May 16th for travelers from the countries of the European Union and the Schengen area, Great Britain and Israel who swabbed with negative results. Therefore, the obligation remains to show a molecular or antigenic swab with negative result upon arrival, carried out in the 48 hours preceding arrival in our country. With the same ordinance, the restrictive measures against Brazil were extended until 30 July 2021.The same ordinance also extended the experimentation of Covid tested flights, until now active on the route between the United States and Italy. The testing of Covid tested flights, in line with the ordinance, was extended to Malpensa on the route to and from the United Arab Emirates on which Emirates (Malpensa-Dubai) and Etihad (Malpensa-Abu Dhabi) operate. Find out below all the updates for the 2021 summer season. Flights departing from Milano Malpensa: Oman Air has resumed flying to Muscat, 3 flights per week starting in May which will increase to 4 flights per week from July. Neos: in addition to the new flight to New York, active from the second half of June, the company will fly to Cairo from May 8th with 1 flight per week (Saturday) which will increase to 2 flights starting in July. This connection is in addition to those already operated by Egyptair and by Air Cairo for Cairo, also from Malpensa. Ryanair: from Malpensa the Irish airline will operate 30 routes in total and 4 new routes to Barcelona (1 flight per day), Corfu (2 flights per week), Santorini (2 flights per week) and Zakynthos (2 flights per week). Aegean: From May to September Aegean will fly to the following destinations in Greece:

• Heraklion, 3 weekly flights
• Corfu, 3 weekly flights
• Mikonos, 3 weekly flights
• Santorini, 3 weekly flights.

These connections add to the two daily flights to Athens already active.

Wizz Air from Malpensa will fly to the summer destinations:

• Olbia, 1 flight a day since last May 16 and 2 flights a day from July
• Cagliari, 1 flight per day from 2 June
• Tel Aviv, 3 flights a week from 8 June
• Sharm El Sheik, 1 flight per week from 24 July and 2 flights per week from September
• Casablanca, 2 flights per week from 2 July and changes to 3 flights per week from 20 September
• Lampedusa, 2 flights a week from 3 July (Tuesday and Saturday).

These will be joined by destinations in Ukraine, available from June:

• Kiev will increase from 2 to 3 weekly flights from June
• Kharkiv, 2 flights a week from August
• Odessa, 2 flights a week from August
• Lviv, 1 flight per day.

Aeroflot from April 27 resumed the connection to St. Petersburg (2 flights per week), to which you can travel only for valid reasons or subjective requirements.

Air Moldova from 30 April until the end of October resumed the connection with Chisinau (1 per week, on Fridays) and 2 from June, on Mondays and Fridays.

Flights departing from Milano Linate:

Volotea: the Spanish company is a new entry at the Milan airports. Starting from June, the following Linate destinations will begin to operate:

• Catania, 1 flight a day from 4 June
• Lampedusa and Pantelleria, 2 flights a week (Sat and Sun) from 5 June
• Brindisi, 4 flights a week (Tues, Thurs, Sat and Sun) from 3 July
• Lamezia Terme, 4 flights a week (Mon, Tue, Fri and Sun) from 4th July.

Blue Air: will fly to Romania in Cluj Napoca from October (2 weekly flights from 1 June to 30 October 2021), in addition to the connection to Bucharest Otopeni already active from 1 May with one flight a day.

Wizz Air has been heading towards Puglia from July with Bari (2 flights per day) and Brindisi (6 flights per week). Furthermore, on 30 July, the Linate-Naples route will begin operating with 1 flight per day.

Air Dolomiti, Lufthansa's Italian airline, will begin operating 2 flights a day from Linate to Munich starting from 7 June.

Finally, from 11 June easyJet will fly to Catania (2 flights per day) and Palermo (2 flights per day).
