About The Airport
Hokkaido Airports (HAP) was established in August 2019 to operate seven airports in Hokkaido: New Chitose, Wakkanai, Kushiro, Hakodate, Asahikawa, Obihiro, and Memanbetsu. Hokkaido is a popular tourist destination known for its vast natural landscapes, gourmet cuisine, and hot springs. During the green season, visitors can enjoy golf, beautiful gardens and activities. In winter, powder snow attracts skiers and snowboarders from all over the world. New Chitose Airport (CTS) is the fifth-largest airport in Japan, serving 23 million passengers in FY2024, including approximately 3 million international passengers. It is located about 40 km south of Sapporo City.
