New Qantas route from Darwin to Singapore

International travel is about to get easier with Qantas announcing a new route from Darwin to Singapore.

The new international aviation route from Darwin to Singapore will operate 5 times a week from Darwin from 9 December 2024, increasing to daily from March 2025.

Executive General Manager Operations Rob Porter said the new route will help to boost international passenger numbers which are still returning to pre-pandemic levels.

“Airport Development Group is pleased with Qantas’ decision to provide an international service from Darwin to Singapore which will result in more availability of flights for both Territorians and visitors,” Rob said.

“We have heard a lot of feedback from the community on the challenge it has been to fly to Asia, the UK and Europe where people have had to travel longer distances south to the east   coast of Australia before flying over the top of Darwin to be able to access available and affordable fares.”

“This news will see the number of flights between Darwin and Singapore return to pre-pandemic levels from March 2025 as both Singapore Airlines and Qantas plan to operate a combined 14 flights per week.”

Singapore is a key international aviation route, providing a gateway to Asia and other parts of the world including Europe and the United Kingdom.
