Xinjiang Airport (Group) Co., Ltd was founded on 16 April 2004 which is a state-owned enterprise and managed 26 civil airports in 2024, including three International airports, Urumqi Diwopu International Airport, Kashi Laining International Airport, and Yili-Yining International Airport. Additionally, there are five airports with passenger throughput exceeding one million, including Kashi, Korla, Aksu, Hotan, and Yining airports. By the end of 2025, the airports under construction and operation in Xinjiang will reach 33. Xinjiang Airport Group has several wholly-owned holding companies that cover aviation logistics, air travel services, commercial management, educational training, construction and investment, airport economy, aviation education and training and other aspects and other aspects.

This year the fourth terminal with an area of 500,000 square meters and two runways will come into service in April at Urumqi International Airport, which is expected to handle 48 million passenger throughput annually.
