Schiphol welcomes JetBlue Airways

The US carrier’s first flight from New York JFK, operated by an Airbus A321neo LR named Mint, Mint, Wink, Wink, was escorted to its gate by a convoy of Airport Operations vehicles.

All arriving and departing passengers received a cupcake and a wooden tulip to mark the occasion.

Special guests on the first flight included JetBlue CEO Robin Hayes, who cut the ceremonial ribbon and the celebratory cake together with Royal Schiphol Group CEO Ruud Sondag.

JetBlue will operate daily between Amsterdam and New York JFK, and will launch another daily service between Amsterdam and Boston on 21 September.
