Blue Air's expansion out of ATH!

Blue Air to launch Turin & Constanta from Athens and to add more flights to Larnaca

Blue Air released its 2016 Summer Schedule which boasts 23 new routes, and Greece is one of the stars of the season. Athens – Turin (Caselle) and Athens - Constanta are the two new routes of 2016 Summer Schedule that can be enjoyed by the Greek passengers, while the Athens - Larnaca route will see an increase in the number of flights.

Athens – Constanta will become operational on 1st of June 2016 with 2 flights per week, while Turin – Athens will have 4 weekly flights that will begin on March 27th 2016.

Gheorghe RACARU, General Manager at Blue Air said: 'Athens - Larnaca route represents a real success in Blue Air’s portfolio. This was possible thanks to the support of our partners in Greece and specifically due to the involvement of AIA representatives – we see and feel their total dedication in growing the business for Athens Airport which translates into visible results. We managed to find those services that would perfectly meet the needs of the passengers, who were quick to become loyal to our company offer. Blue Air is here to stay and this is proved by the two newly-introduced routes and the increase in weekly flights - 4 flights to Larnaca - thus, getting to operate 14 weekly flights between Athens and Larnaca.

The visible increase in the number of Blue Air routes triggers an increase in its fleet and number of employees. Blue Air fleet currently includes 15 aircrafts, and by the end of March next year it will reach a total of 20 Boeing 737 aircrafts.

The Customer Service and Flight Departments were the main services that contributed to the increase in Blue Air’s headcount by over 50%, as compared to 2014, while at present the company has 750 employees. In 2015 Blue Air has invested in professional training programs for its front line employees as well as its flight attendants to ensure a pleasant experience to our valuable passengers.

The turnover will reach 200 million euro in 2015 and the number of passengers will exceed 2 million.

At present, Blue Air has three operational bases in Romania and two foreign bases in Italy and Cyprus, and by next summer, we will fly to 65 routes within Europe.'

The tickets for the 2016 Summer Schedule are already on sale, with prices from € 27.99*/ segment (* taxes included, subject to availability).

Determined to always offer the best for its passengers, Blue Air is constantly investing in:

- Opening new destinations

- Diversifying our optional PREMIUM services

- Offering professional training courses to our personnel (front line employees and crew members)

- Expanding our fleet

- Ensuring an increase in the comfort of our passengers by adding new seats on our aircrafts (Recaro 3520 reclining seats). Not only are these seats more comfortable for our passengers but due to their composition and innovative structure, they also help decrease the total weight of the aircraft thus reducing fuel consumption and, implicitly, the carbon footprint.

Smart Flying stands, among others, for transparency over the costs of a ticket. Passengers, knowing their needs during a flight, can choose and configure their flight ticket and additional services. This way, all our clients will always have a range of personalized services to choose from, all at the best prices.
