September & 9-month passenger traffic

The airport’s passenger traffic during September substantially exceeded the respective 2015 levels by 14.6%, amounting to 2.13 million passengers. Both domestic and international passengers demonstrated a strong increase of 14% and 15% respectively. This favourable development was driven by the robust increase of both Greek residents and foreign visitors by 17% and 15% respectively.

Overall, during the period January through September 2016, the airport’s passenger traffic reached 15.6 million corresponding to an increase of 10.2% vs. the respective 2015 period, with domestic passengers growing by 12.4% and international travellers by 8.9%. Both Greek and foreign travellers enjoyed an increase at the level of 15% and 8% respectively.
