The airport’s passenger traffic during October substantially exceeded the respective 2015 levels by 12.4%, amounting to 1.77 million passengers. Both domestic and international passengers demonstrated a strong increase of 8.8% and 14.2% respectively. Overall, during the period January through October 2016, the airport’s passenger traffic reached 17.3 million corresponding to an increase of 10.4% vs. the respective 2015 period, with domestic passengers growing by 12.1% and international travellers by 9.5%. Both Greek and foreign travellers enjoyed an increase at the level of 15% and 8% respectively.
Number of flights during the period January through October 2016 amounted to 164,445, presenting a robust rise of 7.7%. Domestic and international flights grew at similar levels by 6.9% and 8.2%, respectively.
