Athens March traffic: +7.1%

During March, the airport’s passenger traffic reached 1.38 million and presented a robust growth of 7.1%, this increase continuing the trend of the previous two months of the year and being attributed to the substantial increase of international passengers (+13.1%) vis-a-vis the small decline (-2%) of domestic travelers.

Overall, during the first quarter of 2017, the airport’s passenger traffic reached 3.71 million, exceeding prior-year levels by a robust 7.5%, with domestic traffic being slightly below the respective 2016 volumes (-2%), whereas international passengers enjoyed a sharp increase of almost 14.1%. 

Flights during the first three months of the year amounted to 35,260 presenting a small rise of 1%.   Domestic flights were reduced by 3% while international services showed an increase of 4.1%.
