For the first time, May traffic over 2 million

During May, the airport’s passengers enjoyed a sharp increase of 15.3%, reaching 2.16 million, exceeding for the first time in May the 2 million mark. Both domestic and international travellers achieved growth, at the level of 9.9% and 18.1%, respectively. Overall, during the period January through May 2018, the airport’s passenger traffic exceeded 8 million (8.02), achieving double-digit growth (+10.9%), with domestic traffic slightly exceeding the respective 2017 volumes (+1.2%), whereas international passengers enjoyed a sharp increase of 16.2%.
Number of flights during the first five months of the year amounted to 72,880, demonstrating a healthy rise of 8.9%. Both domestic and international services presented growth by 4.9% and 11.8% respectively, mainly attributed to the enhanced summer 2018 route network of the airport.
