A milestone August :)
For the first time, over 3 million pax in a single month!
During August 2019, the airport’s passenger traffic recorded a robust increase of 5.2% and reached 3.04 million; the first time that the airport’s monthly passenger traffic exceeds the threshold of 3 million. International passengers demonstrated a strong growth at the level of 8.1%, while domestic air travellers presented a slim reduction of -1.1%.
Overall, during the period January through August 2019, the airport’s passenger traffic reached 17.28 million, exceeding respective 2018 levels by 6.7%, with both domestic and international traffic seeing increases of 2.2% and 8.8% respectively.
Number of flights during the first eight months of the year amounted to 154,311, demonstrating a considerable rise of 5.3%. Domestic and international flights presented growth of 7.7% and 3.6% respectively.
