Athens : Earlier ( & Stronger !!! ) than ever before, Passenger traffic over 100,000 daily PAX !!!
Daily passenger volumes already above 2019 and we are only in the 1st half of the year
Strong performance in passenger traffic continues at Athens, reaching new record “heights” !
A fantastic June is almost concluded with +12.03% to June 2019 and 2.7mio PAX, 300 thousand more than pre-pandemic June.
Year to the 28th of June, Pax traffic at +7.22% to 2019 with almost 800 thousand additional passengers. Traditionally, the 2nd half of the year is stronger at Athens.
Back in 2019, the 100k daily volume mark was surpassed for the first time on the 20th of July with 100,552 PAX when in 2023, this mark was surpassed on the 16th of June with 101,153 or 34 days earlier !!
TOP daily performance during 2019, recorded on the 31st of August with 103,914 PAX, however on the 23rd of June 2023 this record was smashed as 106,540 passengers passed through Athens airport, setting a new daily record !
BUT, this lasted only for 48 hours, as on the 25th of June 2023 Athens welcomed 109,020 PAX in a single day, making this Athens NEW record --- or, at least until today 😊
16 Days with daily PAX traffic above 100k back in 2019, when in 2023 so far (up to 28/06) 10 days are already recorded !!
