Happy Independence Day to Athens US airline-partners and visitors !!

Athens International Airport celebrated the US Independence Day, by specially illuminating the Extra-Schengen terminal building in the US flag colours. In this way, Athens airport participates in the celebrations for this important day, together with the large Greek diaspora in the US and visitors from the US to our country.

For Athens, US is the TOP International market in terms of foreign residents arrivals (Tourists), having recorded a 62% growth vs 2019 same period (January-May). Additionally,  Athens direct traffic to the US, increased by 83% from January to May.

During 2022, US achieved its TOP performance with 1,37mio O&D bi-directional PAX (USA-ATH), recording a growth of 15% to pre-pandemic 2019.

In 2023, Athens is connected to 7 destinations (airports) in the US with services offered by 4 airlines.

Athens, in July 2023, offers 67 weekly departures to the US, or 9.6 daily departures

• Emirates operates daily to New York (EWR), year-round
• Delta Airlines operates twice daily to New York (JFK), daily to Atlanta (ATL) and 4 weekly to Boston (BOS)
• United Airlines operates daily to New York (EWR) and daily to Washington (IAD)
• American Airlines operates daily to New York (JFK), daily to Philadelphia (PHL) and daily to Chicago (ORD)
