Unstoppable Athens II: what a year, with strong growth in PAX traffic +13% to 2023 and +23% to 2019 and with the addition of 7 New Destinations, 6 New Airlines, 26 Additional new services so far !!
Following a strong 9 month period in 2024, Winter 2024/2025 is looking even more promising for Athens !!
As a very successful summer season for Athens International Airport is near to its end, an even promising Winter season (2024/2025) is just around the corner. Not to mention what Summer 2025 has for Athens !!
It is not only PAX traffic at Athens that is recording spectacular results, it is also the Network of the airport which is enriched with the addition of 7 New Destinations, 6 New Airlines and 26 Additional new services.
The spectacular growth in traffic is driven by all airlines operating at Athens and from all of Athens international markets.
Up to Summer 2024, Athens achieved significant Route Developments by adding 6 new Destinations, welcoming 6 new Airlines and 17 additional new services on the existing network.
In addition to above Route Developments, large increases in frequencies on the existing network and upgrade to larger aircrafts, fueled the growth so far.
Winter ahead is looking even more promising, with the addition of 1 more new Destination and 9 additional new services on the existing network.

American Airlines, announced the addition of Charlotte to Athens next Summer, making Charlotte a brand-new destination for the airport, increasing the already strong US network to 8 destinations (from 7 this year).
Delta Airlines, announced the addition of 4 more weekly frequencies between Atlanta and Athens, taking the total frequencies on the route to 11/7 for next Summer.
