Athens’ outstanding performance continues strong, as again in October Athens stands as the TOP airport in the Mega airports category in pax traffic growth to 2019.
Athens had already reached a new record in PAX traffic in 2023, with 28.5mio PAX, so for Athens to continue remaining at the TOP is a strong achievement. Athens International Airport is emerging as the top-performing mega airport in Europe for October 2024, recording an impressive 30.9 % increase in passenger traffic compared to pre-pandemic 2019, according to the latest air traffic data from Airports Council International Europe (ACI Europe).
Results underscore the airport’s successful route development and airline marketing strategy and Athens’ attractiveness as a year-round, city-break and business destination.
