January 2025: A New Year, New opportunities to Grow Athens International Airport Kicks Off 2025 with Strong Growth in Passenger Traffic

International Passenger traffic at +18.7% and Domestic at 5.1% to January 2024
Athens International Airport kicked off 2025 with extremely strong growth in passenger traffic and in flights , following an equally spectacular 2024.
In total, ATH served 1.8mio passengers in January 2025, marking a 14.5 percent increase compared to the 1.6mio passengers recorded in January 2024.
In specific, international passenger traffic in January 2025 reached 1.3mio passengers, an 18.7 percent increase compared to 1.1mio PAX in January 2024.
Domestic passenger traffic also saw a rise of 5.1 percent, with 510.7 thousand passengers in January 2025 compared to 486.2 thousand in the same month last year.
For the International market in specific, strong growth in passenger traffic was recorded at Italy with 5.1%, Cyprus 12.6%, France and Turkey at over 30% each compared to January 2024.
Traffic to/from Israel reached 100 thousand round-trip passengers, making Israel one of the TOP markets for Athens in January 2025.
United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia recorded spectacular growth in PAX traffic, with 55% and 91% respectively.
Traffic at the US market increased further in January 2025 at 15%, while traffic to/from China increased by 148% vs 2024, continuing strong growth.
Other notable increases are recorded at the Czech Republic with 45.2%, Denmark at 39%, Poland and Netherlands at 20% each.
