Aruba Airport thanked its valued business partners for a great 2014

During a night of 70’s and 80’s fun: Aruba Border Police and United Airlines were awarded by AAA

Aruba Airport Authority N.V. (AAA) can look back on a year filled with accomplishments, challenges, and great opportunities for the future. This was the main message given by AAA CEO Mr. James Fazio when he welcomed the guests at AAA’s annual Relations Party who were ready to boogie with the airport team at Alhambra Ballroom. It was noted that the preliminary figures for 2014 show a positive growth pattern in passenger traffic and aircraft movements and this was reason enough for celebration; however, Aruba Airport also used this annual event to show their appreciation for the commitment, hard work and dedication of its airlines customers, and business partners. It was during this night that AAA also wanted to give two special awards to two partners who stood out in 2014. AAA CEO Mr. Fazio presented the AAA Partnership Award 2014 to Aruba Border Police and the Airline Partnership Award 2014 to United Airlines.

The 2014 AAA Partnership Award acknowledged the Aruba Border Police as an important and vital airport stakeholder in ensuring a safe and secure airport environment. During 2014 the Border Police leadership managed to overcome the challenges of limited budgets, and staffing, and was able to close a number of criminal investigations, provide K9 support, and training, and additionally, provide added support and security to the airport’s border control functions. These efforts not only improved the safety for the traveling public, but add value to the country’s national security, and deemed worthy of acknowledgement by AAA.

The 2014 AAA Airline Partnership Award acknowledged United Airlines as one of our airline partners that continues to re-affirm its commitment to Aruba, with new markets, and increases in seat capacity, as well as an outstanding record of operational excellence, and a proven track record of being an overall outstanding business partner.

AAA CEO Mr. James Fazio addressed the airport community with thankful words for what has been accomplished in 2014: “We can look back at 2014 as a successful year; and an example of what can be accomplished with commitment, focus, and a willingness to make a difference.  The number of passengers that visited Aruba in 2014 shows that our combined efforts are paying off and I strongly believe that our teamwork will continue to benefit Aruba’s competitive position”, said James Fazio.
