1st Construction Fair in Aruba
In light of Aruba Airport’s Gateway 2030 project
As part of the preparation for the tendering process for the construction of the main terminal expansion project, Aruba Airport Authority N.V. (AAA) organized a Construction Fair in an effort to introduce prospective international construction firms to the business community and government leadership in Aruba. The large scale of the airport expansion project will require the collaboration and participation of many local construction companies who will have to work together to reach the airport’s construction goals.
The Construction Fair was held in Aruba on November 29, 2018. The main purpose of the event was to present the Gateway 2030 Expansion project to the Construction Industry in Aruba and create the opportunity for international and local contractors to meet and initiate cooperation and to provide international contractors with information on doing business in Aruba.
“The large investments being made over the next several years will not only have a profound impact on the airport’s infrastructure, but these investments should also provide a much needed boost to Aruba’s local economy, by increasing local business activity and employment. This construction fair is designed to give large international construction firms the opportunity to meet one-on-one with Aruba’s local construction contractors, and consulting companies, in an effort to engage local company participation in The Gateway 2030 expansion project; and provide important information on Aruba’s requirements on establishing a business entity, taxation system, labor policies, and other important information needed to properly do business in Aruba. We are convinced that the Construction Fair will be a great tool for local and international construction companies to meet and engage each other to form strong partnerships, and achieve the necessary balance of international and local expertise needed to execute a large and complex construction project.” said AAA CEO Mr. James Fazio.
