Handover West Apron Extension – Phase 2B
In Phase 2B of the West Apron Extension, one new aircraft stand (stand 13) was built,
as well as a new connection from Taxiway Kilo (approximately 150 m) to the main
taxiway Golf and the taxi lane behind the main apron. Included in the works are 141
m long concrete ditches which drain the water from the new pavement. The new
aircraft stand is built with a fuel hydrant, utility pole, stand ID pole, grated drain and
all required markings.
In addition, a concrete culvert under the new taxiway was built connecting to the
ditch and a manhole in the main apron. This culvert will drain all the water that is
collected in the grated drains on the main apron. Lastly, 7 new edge lights and 2
new guidance signs were placed on the taxiway.
