Aruba celebrated with Avianca

Second airline in the world to reach 100 years!

December 2019 marks a very special occasion for Avianca, whose famous red and white planes have now been in the skies across the world for 100 years. Avianca, originally registered under the name SCADTA and in 1949 adopted its current name, is officially the world’s second-oldest airline that has grown to connect the most extensive network in Latin America.

As part of Avianca’s history and growth, Aruba Airport’s CEO honored Avianca with a Colombian-inspired anniversary “fiesta” on Tuesday December 10, 2019 together with Avianca’s team on island and counted with the presence of Aruba’s Prime Minister Mrs. Evelyn Wever-Croes, CEO of the Aruba Tourism Authority, Aruba Hotel Industry partners and Avianca’s own Regional Sales Coordinator for Central America and Caribbean, Ms. Pammela Flores.
