Strengthening Alliances: Aruba Airport’s Aviation Business Development Unit Hosts Insightful Session with Airline Partners
Aruba Airport Authority N.V.’s (AAA), Aviation Business Development unit hosted an insightful informational session, dedicated to fostering collaboration and communication with our esteemed airline partners. As an integral sub-unit within the Revenue Development & Communications division, the Aviation Business Development unit plays a pivotal role in shaping the business landscape at Aruba Airport.
The session, attended by station managers and airline representatives serving Aruba Airport, featured presentations from key members of the Aviation Business Development team. Jo-Anne Meaux-Arends, Aviation Business Development Executive, Mary Joan Wardlaw, Customer Relationship Officer, and Joanne Trimon, Research & Development Officer, delivered engaging insights on various pertinent topics.
The agenda included a comprehensive overview of traffic and passenger statistics at Aruba Airport, providing a forward-looking perspective into 2024. The upcoming winter season at Aruba Airport is set to be a busy one, with various airlines, including American Airlines, JetBlue, Delta Air Lines, WestJet, Southwest, Air Canada, Copa, and Air Century, increasing weekly capacity to the island. Moreover, Aruba Airport will inaugurate two new routes this December – service from Lima, Peru to Aruba with Latam Airlines and from Punta Cana, Santo Domingo to Aruba with Air Century
Additionally, our media and communication strategies were shared with airline partners. The department is committed to creating greater engagement with the local community by ensuring they are well-informed about the offerings and unique destinations each airline brings to Aruba Airport. As part of this commitment, the team has launched various promotional campaigns throughout the year, including the ongoing "Bula Halto cu Spirit Airlines" campaign in collaboration with "Na Drempel di Fin di Anja." This campaign, culminating on November 24th, offers participants a chance to win two airline tickets with Spirit. Every Friday, Spirit-related questions are posted on Aruba Airport's Facebook page, and participants must comment with the correct answer in the comments section to be eligible for the campaign.
Furthermore, Julian Chung, Projects & Development Executive, Toy Balentin, Sr. Project Director Gateway 2030, and Paul Hidma, MEP Team Manager of Gateway 2030 Phase 1A from the Development and Technology department provided a detailed update on the progress of Aruba Airport's ambitious Gateway 2030 project.
