Aruba to Brazil Starting December 2024

Aruba Airport is pleased to announce nonstop service between Aruba Airport (AUA) and Sao Paulo, Brazil (GRU), commencing on December 18, 2024.

The Government of Aruba, in collaboration with the Aruba Airport Authority and Aruba Tourism Authority, is pleased to announce nonstop service between Aruba Airport (AUA) and Sao Paulo, Brazil (GRU), commencing on December 18, 2024.

During a press conference held on June 3, 2024, the parties revealed GOL Airlines’ plan to operate direct non-stop flights from Guarulhos International Airport (GRU) in Sao Paulo, Brazil to Aruba.

This development marks a significant milestone for Aruba, introducing a new destination currently unserved, and establishing Aruba as the fourth Latin American regional hub and the 32nd directly connected destination. GOL Airlines will join as the 28th airline serving Aruba Airport, facilitating connections not only to Sao Paulo, Brazil, but also to key Brazilian markets such as Rio de Janeiro (GIG), Belo Horizonte (CNF), Brasilia (BSB), Porto Alegre-Salgado Filho (POA), and Manaus (MAO), as well as to Argentina, Chile, Uruguay, and Paraguay.

With this expansion, Aruba Airport continues to strengthen its presence in the Latin American market, now offering 32 weekly flights to the island from major hubs including Bogota, Panama City, Lima, and Sao Paulo. Avianca currently holds the largest market share with 15 weekly flights from Bogota and Medellin, followed by Copa Airlines with 10 weekly flights from Panama City, and Latam Airlines with 4 weekly flights from Lima, Peru.

"Aruba Airport proudly announces this new Brazil route, a development nearly a year in the making. Our objective aligns with that of the Aruba Tourism Authority and the Government of Aruba, which is to diversify Aruba’s route network and expand within the Latin American market. The rapid growth in the Latin American market underscores the strong demand for travel to Aruba," said Jo-Anne Meaux-Arends, Aruba Airport’s Aviation Business Development Executive.
