LATAM Airlines Boosts Connectivity to Aruba with Expanded Flight Frequency

Starting in the winter season of 2024, LATAM Airlines will operate 5 weekly flights

Aruba Airport proudly announces LATAM Airline’s decision to enhance its direct service between Lima (LIM) and Aruba (AUA), starting winter 2024. This development marks a significant milestone in Aruba Airport’s ongoing efforts to enhance connectivity and meet the growing demand for travel to and from Latin America.

Since its launch in December 2023, LATAM Airlines has continually strengthened its commitment to Aruba. Initially offering three weekly flights on Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays, the carrier promptly responded to heightened demand by adding a fourth frequency on Mondays, effective July 2024. The carrier has consistently witnessed substantial growth in load factors, increasing from 64.9% in December 2023 to 89.5% in June 2024, reflecting strong demand and efficient utilization of seat capacity.

In response to the strong demand for travel to Aruba and exceptional route performance, LATAM Airlines has announced the introduction of a fifth weekly flight on Tuesdays, beginning in the winter period 2024. This expanded service not only solidifies LATAM’s footprint in Aruba but also ensures seamless travel experience for passengers.

The additional frequencies scheduled for July 2024 and winter 2024 are anticipated to contribute an incremental monthly seat capacity of approximately 1,400 seats, reaching an estimated total of 3,480 monthly seats by winter 2024. The Latin American region has seen already seen remarkable growth in 2024, with seat capacity expanding by 41.5% and load factors increasing by 0.2 points year-to-date August 2024 when compared to the same period in the previous year.

"We are thrilled to see LATAM Airlines' continued confidence in Aruba Airport as a strategic partner," said Jo-Anne Meaux-Arends, Aviation Business Development Executive at Aruba Airport. "This expansion aligns perfectly with our goal of fostering growth in the Latin American market and opening up new avenues for travel to other destinations within LATAM's extensive network. It demonstrates our shared commitment to providing travelers with convenient connections and exceptional travel experiences."
