No.1 Traveller Lounge Opens at Birmingham Airport
The No.1 Traveller Lounge at Birmingham Airport opens for business.
No.1 Traveller has arrived at Birmingham Airport and will be open to the public from Wednesday 31st October.
The new No.1 Traveller Lounge is the company’s sixth UK opening but its first lounge outside London, creating 20 jobs in the local area and bringing a new level of pre-flight experience to the travelling public in the Midlands.
The lounge is located beyond security and will be the largest public lounge in the airport, offering passengers an innovative range of facilities including a selection of seating across two levels, a fully-tended bar serving complimentary wine, beer, spirits and soft drinks, and a bistro serving a range of hot and cold freshly-prepared dishes. Guests can also take advantage of complimentary newspapers, glossy magazines and unlimited, free Wi-Fi.
The lounge features a double-height ceiling, large windows with runway views and a mezzanine level giving it a naturally light and spacious environment, with over 100 seats. Despite the large size of the lounge, intimate spaces with side lamps and comfortable, low-level seating are designed to help passengers relax in comfort prior to departure.
No.1 Birmingham also offers the business traveller a work-friendly environment with a meeting room supported by a travel concierge service including in-lounge foreign exchange. For the leisure traveller it offers a new standard of premium pre-flight hospitality, with A la Carte dishes, champagne and cocktails available*, as well as Champagne Packages for any special occasion.
Phil Cameron, Founder and CEO of No.1 Traveller says: “Birmingham is booming as an airport and is clearly a viable alternative to London, offering over 140 major worldwide destinations. Our arrival at Birmingham is incredibly exciting for us as it marks the next step in No.1 Traveller’s expansion. We’re delighted to bring our world-class lounge experience to the airport.”
Paul Kehoe, CEO of Birmingham Airport said: “We’re really excited to be working with No.1 Traveller and delighted with the lounge – the finished product really is fantastic. We’re very pleased to see new jobs created at Birmingham and the lounge is a significant addition to our terminal facilities.”
Councillor Hawkins, Mayor of Solihull said: “I welcome the investment in a new high quality lounge at Birmingham Airport, and the new jobs it has created. The airport goes from strength to strength and these new premium quality facilities will add to the range of services at the airport”.
