Birmingham benefits from Thomas Cook Airline’s Cape Verde growth
Thomas Cook Airlines has announced it will fly from Birmingham Airport to Cape Verde for winter 2017 for the first time.
The new Birmingham route is now on sale along with the rest of the short and medium haul seat-only programme for next winter. It follows the announcement in April of an additional Airbus A321 based at Birmingham for winter 2016, as well as an extra Airbus A320 and five new routes during summer 2017.
James Burrows, Aviation Director for Thomas Cook Airlines, said: ““We’re so excited to carry on our growth at Birmingham. With the start of Comiso and Lesbos next summer and following our £100m cabin upgrade programme and launch of our pre-order duty free service, Airshoppen, we’re offering even more choice than ever for winter sun from Birmingham.”
William Pearson, Aviation Director from Birmingham Airport, said: “Cape Verde is growing in popularity with both sun seekers and those with holiday homes on this beautiful Island off the Coast of West Africa, so this new service is a welcome addition to our winter schedule.
"Thomas Cook Airlines has committed to growth at Birmingham with additional aircraft and several new routes over the coming year so we thank the airline for choosing Birmingham and serving our catchment with excellent flights and holidays.”
Flights from Birmingham to Cape Verde run from 2nd November 2017 until 26th April 2018 and are available from £139 one-way through www.thomascookairlines.com
