Thomas Cook introduces new holidays to Egypt’s Marsa Alam from Birmingham Airport
Thomas Cook has introduced Marsa Alam as a new winter sun destination from Birmingham Airport, to meet the increased demand for holidays to Egypt from across the Midlands.
This follows the company’s decision to cancel its programme to Sharm El Sheikh, as the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office continues to advise against travel to Sharm El Sheikh airport.
Thomas Cook and Thomas Cook Signature holidays to Marsa Alam are available from November 2017 until April 2018. The holidays will operate on a weekly direct flight on Thomas Cook Airlines with a flying time of five and a half hours.
With winter temperatures ranging from the mid 20’s to low 30’s, Marsa Alam, the most southern of Egypt’s Red Sea resorts, is an idea choice for some guaranteed winter sun and boasts some of the best diving and snorkelling in Egypt, including on the world famous Elphinstone reef. Holidaymakers can also visit the Wadi el Gamal National Park, home to a variety of rare bird and animal breeds, and ‘Cleopatra’s mines, where gold and emeralds were previously excavated. In addition, the coastline offers unparralled white sand beaches where dugongs and giant turtles can be regularly spotted.
A range of eight four and five star holidays are on sale, including the SENTIDO Oriental Dream, one of Thomas Cook’s own brand hotels that is now available to the company’s UK customers. This stunning hotel is set in a peaceful location with its own coral reef, and beautifully designed Nubian terracotta hued buildings.
Chris Mottershead, Managing Director, Thomas Cook UK and Ireland, said: “We are thrilled to be offering customers in the Birmingham area even more choice for a winter sun getaway to Egypt’s impressive Red Sea Riviera. We know how much our customers value their precious time away together, whether it is a relaxing resort based stay, or a more active snorkelling or diving trip. Our range of quality all-inclusive holidays provide value for money for that all important hard-earned break.”
In addition to Marsa Alam, Thomas Cook offers holidays to the Red Sea resort of Hurghada and surrounding area from Birmingham.
