First Dreamliner touches down at Brussels Airport
Ethiopian Airlines brings its newest plane to the capital of Europe
On Monday, 10 September 2012, Brussels Airport was proud to welcome Ethiopian Airlines' first Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft to Europe. The brand new airplane, delivered only a few weeks before, operated the regular Addis Ababa - Brussels flight, which is normally operated 5 times weekly by B767 aircraft.
Ethiopian Airlines and Brussels Airport invited guests, VIPs, travel trade professionals as well as the aircraft spotters community to come and celebrate this historic occasion.
Several current and future operators at Brussels Airprot have indicated they plan to use their fleet of B787 Dreamliners to fly to Brussels, including Belgian leisure carrier Jetairfly, who are currently constructing a new facility at Brussels Airport for maintenance of the B787 fleet that will be based at BRU.
