Cologne Bonn Airport is located in the center of the most densely populated and most powerful economic region of Continental Europe. In 2024 10 million passengers and 845,000 tons of cargo were handled.
Cologne Bonn Airport (airport code: CGN) is one of the most important passenger and cargo airports in Germany. It is located in the south of the metropolis of Cologne in the direct neighbourhood of Bonn.
Every year, many millions of passengers start their holiday or business trips from Cologne/Bonn. Roundabout 30 airlines fly to more than 100 destinations in over 30 countries in Europe and beyond.
At the same time, the airport is the logistical heart of NRW. It is located in the centre of one of the largest import and export regions in Europe and is one of the 10 largest cargo airports on the continent. It is also the only German airport at which the major express service providers UPS, FedEx and DHL operate a hub.
The airport is also an important economic factor, an image driver for the Rhineland and one of the largest workplaces in the region. Around 15,000 people are employed by 130 companies, service providers, authorities or the airport company itself.
