Cologne Bonn gains Georgian gateway growth
Cologne Bonn Airport has confirmed another new carrier will join its airline ranks this month when Georgian Airways launches a Tbilisi link from the German airport. Set to commence on 27 March, the twice-weekly service (Tuesdays and Thursdays) to the flag carrier’s base in Georgia’s capital city will utilise the airline’s fleet of 97-seat E190s on the 3,040-kilometre sector.
Facing no competition on the airport pair, Georgian Airways will be adding the North Rhine-Westphalia gateway’s 29th country market to be served this year. Adding more than 6,000 seats to the airport’s capacity throughout S18, the addition of Cologne Bonn’s 150th destination further strengthens the airport’s route map this summer.
“We are very pleased about the new commitment of Georgian Airways at our airport. With Tbilisi now on our network, we can offer our passengers an exciting, unusual destination,” says Athanasios Titonis, Managing Director, Cologne Bonn Airport.
The airline’s connection to Cologne Bonn is one of 11 new links Georgian Airways launching this month. Connected to 21 destinations, the carrier now has ten European routes including: Amsterdam, Barcelona, Berlin, Bologna, Bratislava, London, Paris, Prague and Vienna.
