Long-haul services driving growth at Copenhagen Airport
11/03/2015
A total of 1,677,200 passengers passed through Copenhagen Airport in February, which was a record for the month of February.
Passenger numbers at Copenhagen Airport grew by 1.2% in February, although the last few days of the month were affected by a strike at SAS. International traffic continues to be the main driver of traffic volumes.
Long-haul services in particular showed good growth in February with a year-on-year increase of almost 4%. The airlines' winter programmes are largely identical to those of last year, and we are therefore pleased to see intercontinental traffic grow,"said Thomas Woldbye, CEO of Copenhagen Airports A/S.
European traffic grew by 1.4%, intercontinental traffic was up by 3.9%, while domestic traffic was down by 5.0% due to lower capacity on a number of the Danish domestic routes.
The year-to-date increase in the number of passengers is 0.9%, with a total of 3,332,875 travelling through Copenhagen Airport in the first two months of 2015.
