CAP Golf Charity Tournament raises over $33,000 for 'Airport Aviation Scholarship'
The amount was raised in order to offer one or more local student more opportunities to develop professionally within the aviation industry, which CAP finds an investment in youth that will eventually be beneficial to Curaçao.
After a successful first edition in 2014, the 'CAP Golf Tournament' which is the charity golf event organized by Curaçao Airport Partners to raise funds for a good cause, returned; this time around to raise funds for the 'Airport Aviation Scholarship'. Last year the fund was dedicated to the Foundation against Child Abuse (Do Blue) and CARF. This year's event was a tremendous success once again. Through the participation of 35 local and international golf teams, as well as through the donated moneys, products and services offered by local companies, CAP was able to raise ANG60.000, over $33,000 USD- , which is dedicated towards a scholarship specifically for young local students considering a career in the world of aviation and whom could benefit from the 'Airport Aviation Scholarship'.
"The scholarship is an opportunity for us as CAP to offer the students in Curacao the opportunity to become involved in the aviation industry. We think facilities like the airport offers tremendous variations of career opportunities, from airport operations, Fire Rescue, police careers, finance, real estate to name a few. But mainly this industry is open to new and young ideas. We really want to see the young people of Curaçao, of which we think have a tremendous potential, to be a part of this and consider aviation as a career path they might enjoy in the future.", CEO of CAP, Mr. Ralph Blanchard, explained during the Award Ceremony.
