Wizz Air boost Wroclaw offering from Doncaster
More Yorkshire residents can now jet off to Wroclaw from their local airport thanks to Wizz Air.
The airline, which has recently announced two new routes from Robin Hood Airport Doncaster Sheffield, has now added an extra 5000 seats from the Yorkshire airport to Wroclaw.
The additional flight, which will head out to Poland every Thursday, will start on April 17 and run through the summer season until October 23.
Chris Harcombe, Head of Aviation Development for Doncaster Sheffield Airport, said: “This has been a great week for news about Wizz Air flights from Doncaster Sheffield Airport.
“Following the announcement of new routes to Riga and Bucharest, we are delighted to announce extra capacity on the popular Wroclaw route increasing the service from two to three departures a week.
“Wizz Air continues to show great commitment to Doncaster Sheffield Airport, increasing the number of flights to destinations, improving travel times and adding new routes.”
Daniel de Carvalho, spokesman for Wizz Air, added: “We are pleased to be adding an extra service from Doncaster to Wroclaw, giving more passengers the opportunity to explore this beautiful city.
“Since starting at Doncaster Sheffield Airport in 2006 with just three weekly services to Katowice in Poland, Wizz Air now operates 22 flights per week to eight destinations - Riga in Latvia, Vilnius in Lithuania and Gdansk, Warsaw, Katowice, Poznan and Wroclaw in Poland and now Bucharest in Romania.”
Over 1.4 million people have flown from Doncaster Sheffield Airport with Wizz Air to accommodate the growing interest in Central and Eastern European destinations and also to support the Central & Eastern European population living and working in Yorkshire.
