FLYBE TO LAUNCH NEW SERVICES TO DUBLIN

Flybe has announced that it will begin service on 11 routes from Cardiff Airport this summer including a new service to Dublin Airport.

The new routes from Cardiff include Edinburgh, Faro, Glasgow, Munich, Milan and Paris in addition to Dublin.

The Dublin flights start in June with six a week rising to 12 a week. Seats go on sale from March 6.

Dublin Airport Managing Director, Vincent Harrison said he was delighted to see Flybe expand its route network from Dublin. “This new service offers more choice and flexibility for passengers flying between Dublin and Cardiff and also provides easy connections to Dublin Airport’s expanding long-haul network.

This new route will also offer convenient transatlantic connections via Dublin for passengers coming from Wales and we will be working closely with Flybe to promote this new service and enhanced connectivity from Ireland to Wales.”

Two of the airline’s 118-seat Embraer 195 aircraft will be based at Cardiff airport with the first from June 1 and the second arriving on September 1.

“We are delighted to launch these exciting new routes from Cardiff Airport. We have been looking to find a productive home for our surplus E195 aircraft and we are delighted at this agreement with Cardiff Airport which involves us basing two of these jets there to serve the Welsh market with great value fares and further improving UK regional connectivity,” said Saad Hammad, CEO, Flybe.
