Aegan Airlines launches its 1st route Dublin - Athens
Dublin Airport has welcomed a new carrier with the launch by Aegean Airlines of a new direct seasonal service to Athens.
Aegean, which is part of the Star Alliance network, will fly twice weekly from Dublin to the Greek capital until September 19.
“Welcoming a new airline is always a very special occasion at Dublin Airport,” said Jon Woolf, daa Senior Vice President Marketing.
“Athens is steeped in history and has so much to offer. I have no doubt this will be a very popular location for both business and leisure passengers. This new service allows customers from Dublin to travel to Athens and onto 30 destinations on Aegean’s route network.”
Flights will depart Dublin every Monday and Saturday at 23.15, arriving in Athens at 05.05. The new route is being served by a 170-seat Airbus A320.
Guests who attended this week’s launch of the new service included the Greek Ambassador Katia Georgiou; Aegean UK Country Manager, Lynda Betsch; Aegean Airport Services Manager, Christina Markou; and Aegean Regional Manager, Panagiotis Anastasopoulous.
