Dublin Airport To Welcome 423,000 Passengers This Weekend
Dublin Airport will welcome around 423,000 passengers over the coming May bank holiday weekend, according to the airport's operator daa.
The four day period between Friday and Monday will see around 220,000 passengers departing from Dublin Airport, with 203,000 passengers arriving. The expected numbers are on a par with 2019 levels.
Passengers departing from Dublin Airport over the coming weekend are advised to arrive at their terminal two hours in advance of a short-haul flight and three hours before a long-haul flight.
Demand for car parking in Dublin Airport's car parks is extremely high for the coming weekend with all of our car parks sold out. Anyone without an existing booking is encouraged to travel to the airport via public transport or taxi, or to be dropped off at the airport.
According to Sarah Ryan, Director of Communications at daa: "The coming weekend is set to be one of the busiest of the year so far, with more than 100,000 passengers travelling through the Dublin Airport each day. From football fans, to holiday makers and business travellers, the two terminals at Dublin Airport will welcome passengers from all over Ireland this weekend, as well as tens of thousands of tourists from around the world who will visit all four corners of the island."
"The busiest days over the weekend will be Friday and Sunday when around 107,000 passengers will pass through the airport. The team at Dublin Airport is ready to go and looking forward to welcoming everyone travelling over the coming days," she added.
Passenger Advice – Preparing For Security
In order to ensure the smoothest journey possible, Dublin Airport is advising passengers to prepare for security in advance and make their way directly to the security screening area once checked in.
While Dublin Airport has commenced the roll-out of new enhanced C3 scanners in both Terminal 1 and Terminal 2, the rules around liquids remain the same and passengers must continue to prepare for security as normal.
Travellers are reminded that EU security regulations state that liquids over 100mls cannot be brought through the security screening area. Liquids under 100mls are permitted and should be placed in a single transparent, re-sealable bag measuring not more than 20cm x 20cm. Passengers should also be ready to remove hoodies and oversized jumpers and sweaters.
