Let’s face it: airports generally aren’t the places people want to hang around if they are not flying. You HAVE to go an airport in order to get into you plane and fly from A to B.
When it comes to business development, innovation and branding, airports tend to approach these matters in an inside-out manner, while it should be all about the passengers.
We at Eindhoven Airport have spent the last two years developing our brand promise: becoming the easiest airport in the Netherlands. We have this goal because customer insights told us that, if you strip everything, a passenger just wants a stress free airport experience. And since our terminal is small enough to be efficient and handy, and big enough to cater to your every need, we can actually make this brand promise a reality.
To make this happen, we created a three pillar strategy based on ‘Infrastructure’, ‘People’ and ‘Digital’. At the moment we have seven building projects at the airport, creating more commercial and operational square meters, opening premium brand stores and restaurants, creating a more welcome and relaxed atmosphere and realizing a parking garage in front of the entrance of the terminal.
Also we are training our workforce and the workforce of our partners so they will be the true ambassadors of our brand promise.
Lastly, we are constantly improving our digital strategy, making the customer journey as easy as possible. Launching a complete new website based on just four main buttons (making it easier for passengers to find the right information), developing a mobile airport assistant for your smart phone and a new e-commerce environment, making it easier for passengers to order numerous airport products through one shopping basket.
