Eindhoven Airport realises 12% growth in the first quarter
More passengers, more plane movements, more destinations and load factor per flight
Eindhoven Airport has had 12% more passengers in the first quarter than in the first three months of 2017. In the period January through March, 1,238,000 passengers used the airport, 132,000 more passengers than in the first three months of 2017, when there were 1,106,000 passengers.
Passenger growth is the result of frequency increases, an increase in the load factor per flight and a greater choice of destinations. The average load factor in the first three months of 2018 was 151 passengers per aircraft, compared to 144 in the first three months of 2017.
The growth in the number of movements in this period was 6%, with 8200 movements in January through March 2018 (compared with 7700 in the first quarter of 2017).
For the whole year of 2018, Eindhoven Airport expects to realise a growth of approximately 10% compared to 2017, totalling approximately 6.2 million passengers (2017: 5.7 million). The number of aircraft movements in 2018 is expected to be around 39,500, an 8% increase compared to 2017, when there were 36,500 movements.
