Eindhoven Airport expects record Summer
Eindhoven Airport realized a 9% passenger growth compared to 2017 in the first six months of 2018.
In the period January until June 2018 2.927.000 passengers made use of the airport, which means an increase by 252.000 passengers compared over the same period last year. Passenger growth is the result of an increase of frequencies, a higher passenger load factor per flight as well as more destinations. The passenger load factor during the first half of 2018 counted an average of 157,4 passengers per aircraft compared to 151 passengers per aircraft in 2017. The air transport movements (ATM's) grew by 5% in this period, 18.600 ATM's in 2018 compared to 17.700 ATM's in 2017.
Today embarks the arrival of the Summer holiday period; the expectsation is that in the months of July and August a record number of 1.2 million passengers will make use of Eindhoven Airport.
The busiest day until now was Friday 29th of June with 21.388 passengers (arriving and departing altogether). The expectation is that the busiest day of the year is still in store for later this year. Taken the whole year of 2018, Eindhoven Airport expects a total passenger growth of 10.5%, welcoming around 6.3 million passengers.
