Hamburg Airport opens first pop-up store
New concept for shopping variety
The range of shopping opportunities at Hamburg Airport continues to grow: Tomorrow, a so-called pop-up store will open in the Airport Plaza, bringing even more variety to the shopping experience at Hamburg Airport. Pop-up stores are shops that are only operated by an individual provider for a limited time, so that the range of shopping options for customers is always changing. The first tenant, Samsonite, will offer premium suitcases and bags for around six months. After this, a new tenant will operate the 23-square-metre retail space, bringing change and variety.
“We are thrilled by the opening of the new pop-up store at Hamburg Airport,” says Lutz Deubel, Head of Center Management at Hamburg Airport. “The regular change of tenants will make the shopping experience much more interesting for our passengers. We are continually developing our retail offering, and the new pop-up store is an ideal complement to our portfolio, which already brings a first-class airport experience to both frequent flyers and occasional travellers.”
The pop-up store is part of Hamburg Airport’s newly designed Pier atmosphere. In recent months, several waiting areas at the gates have been modernised. The new designs have a typical Hamburg touch. The pop-up store has also been designed to reflect the themes of trade, merchant houses and the warehouse destrict, with a bright and transparent feeling. Typical motifs from the city communicate Hamburg’s unique flair. The pop-up store is also directly integrated with the Gate A17 waiting area, so that passengers can shop in the immediate vicinity of their boarding gate.
