Adria Airways celebrates inaugural flight from Hamburg to Ljubljana

Double première at Hamburg Airport: Adria Airways launched a new service to Ljubljana at the start of the 2018 summer timetable. The inaugural flight on the route was officially celebrated today. The Slovenian capital is a completely new destination in Hamburg’s route network and has never before been served directly from Hamburg Airport. The Slovenian carrier, Adria Airways, is also a new airline for Hamburg Airport. The Ljubljana route will be served four times per week — Monday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday — in the summer season. 70-seat Canadair Regional Jet 700 and 50-seat Saab 2000 aircraft will be deployed on the service.

“Our route network in southeastern Europe now has one more attractive destination in Ljubljana,” says Dr Joergen Kearsley, Head of Aviation Marketing at Hamburg Airport. “Ljubljana is one of the few capital cities within the EU to which we did not have a direct service. The connection is attractive for business travellers as well as for nature lovers and people going on a city trip or visiting family. We therefore appreciate the commitment of Adria Airways and welcome the airline as a new partner.”

Ljubljana — the cultural and commercial heart of Slovenia

With almost 300,000 residents, Ljubljana is the biggest city in Slovenia. The city is the political, commercial and cultural heart of the EU member state. Ljubljana is also considered an important university city. The Slovenian commercial centre attracts a lot of business travellers from all over Europe but is also an important market for ethnic travel — visiting friends and families.
